A few of my favorite things…

affiliate links

Here’s where I try to pay the bills:

Amazon: If you do shop on Amazon, click here first. We’ll get a little “finders fee” for every purchase you make, and it won’t cost you a buffalo nickel! Win-win!

Bookshop.org: For those who prefer that their hard-earned royalty checks go to independent bookstores and authors rather than megayacht-owning bazillionares, you can buy your books here and help support this blog!

Pure Vitamin Club: If you’re going to take vitamins anyway, you might as well take the best vitamins on the planet. My own favorite is “Combo Pack A,” which means that every 90 days, a 3-month supply of health-promoting multi caps and sleep-promoting magnesium shows up at my door. Click here first to let Vinnie know I sent ya.

information and resources

There’s a lot of lousy info about “keto” out there. Here’s where you can go to get the straight dope (not affiliate links):

The Charlie Foundation: Without the work of Jim and Nancy Abrahams, the kerogenic diet might have been lost to history years ago. Their website shares lots of great information about the ketogenic diet and epilepsy, including a terrific guide on how to get started, and a directory of providers so you can find a doc to help you on your journey.

LowCarbUSA: Earlier this year, I attended my first in-person conference of the Society for Metabolic Health Practitioners. It was really informative, and really fun! They offer “virtual” tickets for busy folks who can’t travel, and you can watch past conferences on demand. Also, check out the provider directory to find a low-carb-friendly doc in your area.

Restore Health: The toughest part about a low-carb lifestyle? Making it stick. I’ve been a member of Restore Health for a couple of years now. I like their simple tracking app, and the support of my very own coach via text and phone calls.

Diet Doctor: An OG in the low-carb diet space, Dr. Andreas Eenfeldt created this site to be a hub of reliable, peer-reviewed information on all things keto and low-carb. Their articles, recipes and resources are always excellent. This site is my go-to whenever I have a question about low-carb science.
